Dual-Drive Suspended Rotary Screens

2012 Chip Screen in out workshopTimbertech Engineering in conjunction with Acrowood Corporation have been manufacturing Dual-Drive Suspended Rotary Screens for over two years now.

The Dual-Drive Suspended Rotary Screens utilise twin outboard mounted drives. Four counterweights are provided, two above and two below the screen decks, on either side of the screen frame. Two separate counterweight shafts are located close to the screen frame sidewalls.

Bearings, drive shafts and counterweights are all located for easy maintenance access.

The counterweight shafts are each supported by a pair of SKF double-row bearings mounted in steel pillow blocks. These bearings are rated for a long service life.

The entire counterweight assembly can be removed for service by simply removing the guards and unbolting the pillow blocks. The counterweight shafts are driven and synchronized by Gates "Poly Chain" timing belts driven from a centrally mounted electric motor.

With no centre drive tube, the entire deck surface is available for screening.

The screen frame itself is of a unitised, heavy sheet steel construction, with rectangular tubing reinforcement. Dual-Drive screens are supported by four large universal joint assemblies with needle bearings and can be supported from a suport frame or building structure.

Recently screens have been sold into Queensland, South Australia and New Zealand.

Slant Disc Chippers

Slant Disc Chipper Timbertech Engineering are now able to offer Acrowood Slant Disc Chippers manufactured here in Australia. Local manufacture allows significant savings in manufacturing and materials. Local sourcing also ensure that spare parts can be obtained in Australia.

The chipper pictured here was manufactured entirely in Australia and is now installed in New South Wales. This particular chipper was also on display at our stand at AusTimber 2000 in Albury.

Slant Disc chippers have a unique shaft design that allows you to move the disc towards or away from the anvil easily. This allows tight setup clearances between the knife and the anvil for optimimum chip quality with minimal pins & fines. Cutaway diagram of Slant Disc Chipper

Other factors that make an Acrowood Slant Disc chipper worth considering are the short infeed chute, which allows the infeed conveyor to be as close to the disc as possible - minimising the dead space between infeed and the anvil and the free flowing path for the chip, which helps minimize chip damage.

DIAMOND ROLL SCREEN

This Diamond Roll Screen was designed and manufactured at Acrowood's plant in Everett, Washington USA for a client in South Australia.

The Diamond Roll Screen provides a high level of fines removal at production speeds.
The chips travel across a series of parallel, rotating rolls. As these diamond-patterned rolls rotate, fines migrate into the diamond valleys and are rejected through the Inter-Roll Openings (IRO) Pins and chips larger than the IRO are carried over the surface of the screen and off the end.

The diamond-patterned surface topology of the rolls and the rolls constant motion, preventing chips from plugging the screening surface.Textured rolls with application-specific patterns set the base selectivity for one type of fines over another .
The DiamondRoll screen includes an unprecedented feature: Variable Inter-Roll Opening (VIRO). This allows the spacing between the shafts to be set to meet the specific needs of the application, but then to be easily adjusted if material quality changes or if process advantages develop for different openings
