DRUM DEBARKER

This Drum Debarker was custom designed and manufactured for a client in Queensland who required a less aggressive debarking action for their high value logs.

This type of Debarker is used extensively in the pulp and paper industry. The action of the Drum Debarker is to "bruise" the bark off without removing the clean wood fibre below.

This is achieved through the tumbling action created as the drum slowly rotates. Longitudinal ribs inside the drum ensure that logs are continuously tumbled against other logs. The success of this action and the amount of bark removal is dependant on the time the logs remain in the drum.

Drum Specification:

• 3.6 metre long
• 1.9 metre internal diameter
• 5 rows of outlet slots
• Hinged Bulkhead door

Support Frame Specification:

• Heavy Duty Transmission and radial tyres carrying drum
• Integral waste removal belt with 2.2kw drive
• 18.5 kW 2 speed electric drum motor
