MPM Log
Pattern Optimization
MPM's NextGen
Pattern Log Optimizer calculates the optimal cutting pattern in conjunction with the best rotational position of the log to achieve the best yield. The pattern log optimizer is designed to control fixed or settable sawlines, multiple machinery configurations and log turners of all types. The optimization software is designed to work with X-Y or 3-D profile log scanners.
MPM's NextGen uses a real-time pattern fit in it's solutions for every 5° rotation of the log in it's search for the best orientation. The fitting process takes into consideration the machine capabilities (centering and offsetting of the infeed, straight or curve sawing, as well as edging and trimming decisions). The pattern setup is based on product information and is designed to be user friendly.

Employs various scanning technologies - with a light curtain sensor which reports the X and Y diameter and offsets to create an elliptical log model;
- with sophisticated laser profiling scanners which report actual points on the log surface and a 3-D image of the log is created.
Flexible design: select the scanning system (including Hermary Opto X-Y, LMI/Dynavision, Selscan-3D Alstom, Hermary Opto Laser Profile LPS) and machine control PLC brand of your choice (Allen-Bradley, Modicon, GE, Siemens) all of which work equally well with the MPM optimizer.
Completely configurable to model the breakdown machiner. For example the accuracy of the log turner, log and cant positioning and cutting tool positions.
Rotation based on true shape of the log and optimum fit of the cutting pattern.
Imperial and Metric versions.
