Hogged wood without expensive impurities The VARISORT impurity separator is used for the examination of pre-crushed hogged wood. The combination of different sensor units in one complete system allows exact adaptation to the customer specific separation tasks. Common advantages of all impurity separators of the VARISORT series: |

Modular design - exactly for your application The VARISORT M impurity separator reliably removes all kinds of metals (ferrous & non-ferrous) from the stream of hogged wood. It not only reliably separates loose metal impurities, but also material composites of wood and metal, and metal particles that are included in wood. Whereas conventional metal separators may have difficulties with the separation of certain metals such as high-grade steel, this is absolutely no problem with the VARISORT M impurity separator - irrespective of the type of metal. ![]() |

The VARISORT C impurity separator is based on the principle of true-colour detection. It separates impurities such as rubber or plastics and two-side coated panel boards from the stream of hogged wood in fully automatic operation. ![]() |

Operator-friendly and future-oriented The menu-guided, self-explanatory Control Unit guarantees easy system operation. Because of the modular hardware design, the main components can be easily replaced by the operator, which drastically increases system availability. Other impurity separators currently under development can be subsequently integrated in the system. ![]() |

On the high-speed conveyor belt (1) the stream of hogged wood (2) reaches the area of the metal detection coil (3) that is integrated in the conveyor belt. The HF multi-channel coil is segmented and therefore detects the metal contaminations with highest positional accuracy. By way of a chute at the end of the conveyor belt the stream of hogged wood is transported to the impurity detection area. The high-resolution CCD camera system (4) determines the exact position of the impurities. |
A blow-nozzle rail (5) is positioned immediately behind the impurity detection system. Via a separating shield (6) this rail separates the detected metal and impurity particles from the stream of hogged wood with minimum loss of good material. The information about exactly timed and positionally accurate separation of metals or impurities is supplied by microprocessors of the Control Unit as a link between the detection systems and the separating unit. |
